IDBS Proudly Introduces the
Afterburner Video Server
"Throughput Three to Four Orders of Magnitude Faster
Than Anything Else on the Market"
International Digital Broadcasting Systems, Inc. (IDBS) is offering
a technological breakthrough – a high speed video server which delivers
audio-video feeds, accompanied by text, at a throughput that is three to
four orders of magnitude beyond anything else currently available… and
at a cost to cybercasters, websites, and ISP’s that is significantly under
that of similar, less powerful, products on the market.
Afterburner Video Server
International Digital Broadcasting Systems, Inc. (IDBS) has significantly
outdistanced all of the other systems in use, including those provided
by its more established competitors, by developing a video server for the
internet and WAN's, which is capable of serving hundreds of millions of
images per day. IDBS has proven the strength and capabilities of his unique
Afterburner Video Server in over one year of commercial testing. For
example, IDBS provides web hosting services for one client, who is currently
averaging more than 20 million minutes monthly and serving more than 40
million images per day to videotext customers.
The Afterburner internally capable of maintaining 4,000 simultaneous
open sockets and responding to more than 1 million hits per minute. There
is nothing on the market today that is on the same scale in terms of magnitude
of data output, number of concurrent clients being served, reliability,
or economy.
The Afterburner Video Server runs a single process. The Afterburner
Servers:
a. reduce CPU consumption;
b. greatly reduce hard drive use;
c. compress log files to reduce hard drive access;
d. prevent theft of bandwidth and server resources by verifying the
origin of users; and
e. resist denial of service and hacking attacks.
In internal testing, the Afterburner Video Server has maintained over
4,000 simultaneous open sockets and served over one million hits per minute
for sustained periods of time. The basic system can provide no-download
television-quality on-demand video to over 500 clients concurrently; advanced
systems can deliver to over 4,000 clients.

Pricing includes the integrated solution, full documentation, technical
support (if needed) in installation & integration with your website,
as well as a host of powerful free features, including:
-
-
IDBS’s RACE program, which automatically identifies and selects the
optimal server to respond to each hit in a multi-server configuration,
and balances the load across your network.
-
-
Binary log files which track system usage by individual hit.
-
-
A utility allowing you to restrict access by referring page, thereby preventing
theft of bandwidth from stolen images, without requiring your clients to
use passwords.

a. Architectural Comparison Charts
One of the keys to our breakthrough performance is our proprietary systems
architecture, as depicted in these charts. For an in-depth explanation,
see the White Paper (e., below).
b. Performance Comparison Chart
Other systems claim an ability to handle up to five hundred concurrent
vidio fees. This simple bar chart shows the difference between our measured
performance, and their theoretical “best”. Our theoretical limit is not
a result of the Afterburner Video Server’s design, but of the capacity
of today’s 10Mbps ethernets.
