I am currently running an Intel/Win32 PC with FAT16. Can someone
recommend a free UNIX style OS that will run on my system? I don't
really want to mess with the FAT, but creating a new partition for the
OS would not be a problem. Linux and FreeBSD seem to be options, but
maybe you have better ideas? Suggestions would be most welcome as I am
anxious to *experiment* with the UNIX OS.

1. Yes, either would do, and SFAIK both can co-exist with Windoze in a
   separate partition.
2. Wrong newsgroup by a long long way. Follow-ups adjusted accordingly.
