I am trying to use my Philips CD2600 on FreeBSD-2.2.2. It seems to work
with FreeBSD sample software (/usr/share/examples/worm) and with
the recently announced cdrecord-1.5 alpha software.
(ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/alpha)

Very annoying is the fact that, after any successful use of the drive,
the next time the system messages:
'/dev/rworm0: Device not configured'
until the disc is ejected and newly inserted, even when it is used only
for reading. Does anybody know a way how to avoid this behaviour?
