It is already installed in my BSD/OS 3.0 and

% ls -l /usr/contrib/bin/perl5.00302
-rwxr-xr-x  2 root  bin  504229 Jan 21 14:10 /usr/contrib/bin/perl5.00302*

I have no trouble with it.

You can check module path in Perl5 or you have to check dynamic
loading scheme. It depends on Error messages you have.
