Firstly, I would like to thanks the following people:

adrian@rachel.ibmpcug.co.uk
chk@mcshh.hanse.de
sastdr@torpid.unx.sas.com

Thanks guys for your help so far. I will now describe my set and some
problems, in the hopes that this will also be of some benefit to others.

I am running 386-33 DX (no math co-pro) 4megs memory
Adaptek 1542B + Quantum 120meg scsi (lps120s)
Hercules Monitor
com1 wyse 50 monitor
com2 v32bis modem

Now I downloaded the bin01 distribution from agate 3 weeks ago.
I booted the dist.fs disk install the disk rebooted. (No problems)
I then loaded the bin01 and extracted it. Rebooted and I had a working
BSD System, I am very pleased with the level of development, and again
would like to thank bill, lynn, etc...

I downloaded the patch kit from ref.tfs.com and applied all pactches
except 19,45 and 47. Rebooted and I had and thing came up ok.
Now on with some problems.

Remember that I used the dist.fs to install the bsd base system. Well
according to disklabel -r as0a reports.
as0a	/	BSD4.2 something something 1 1 etc # (1-111)
as0b unused # (112-116)
as0c unused # (1-116) entire drive

ok now in fstab it looks like:

/dev/as0a	/	ufs rw 1 1
no mention of swap???

How do i know if swap is working, and how can i is the current label
correct???? (I am relavtive new to BSD but now to UNIX)

PROBLEM #2 I will start a compile, it will go on for a while and then
the machine will come to a halt. If I hit CTRL C it will return me to the
prompt and if I then retype make, it will just continue.. ok so it mostly
works. BUT what causes the beastie to stop???

PROBLEM #3 UUCP, I have recompiled UUCP to HDB standards, that I am used
to, I run uuchk and things look ok. I run uucico and it does nothing.
I do have debugging turned on.

SENDMAIL is a good program, I am not able to get it to route mail properly
though. ( I know it is probably me, but if anyone can help please drop me a
line with your sendmail.cf) I am using uucp to send and receive mail,
I have no smtp connections. ps I am also in a domain.

Again guys if you can suggest somethings to help get this machine
turned into a useful machine please drop me a line and or post your
results here.

thanks
