Then I guess you are out of luck.  I know of no cheap (or other)
ethernet cards where the primary user base is other than DOS and its
kin.  That's just a fact of life.  I don't think Bill will sue you in
an international court if you boot your friend's DOS diskette and fix
your ethernet card.  Look at it this way.  Unless you assembled the
system from the individual parts, you have likely already paid for
at least a DOS license, if not a Windows (of some flavor) license.
