First of all : sorry for my English;

I have the following problem booting FreeBSD 2.1.0 (I absolutely need this
version of FreeBSD):

I have an Intel 486 CPU 33MHz;

I have a Conner 850MB HD configured as second HD and an IBM 170MB HD
configured as bootable HD (it seems impossible to configure the IBM HD
as second HD : bios is not able to see it);

if I try to install FreeBSD 2.1.0 on a partition on my 850 MB HD
configured as second HD, at boot time I can see the following message
	NO ROM BASIC
	SYSTEM HANG

This is the same message I can see if I try to turn on my PC without
any partitions neither DOS nor others on my bootable HD.

If I try to configure my 850MB HD as bootable disk (loosing my 170MB HD)
and installing FreeBSD on the entire 850MB HD, at boot time I can get
the FreeBSD Boot: prompt, but the cursor (which should start to spin)
remain in its initial vertical posizion. Before booting, my PC asks me
if I want a Turbo, Fast or Normal boot mode; I know that at our
department at the University of Pisa (Italy) a PC was having a
problem similar to mine and the installers solved it choosing
Normal boot mode rather than Turbo boot mode (it seems that if
you choose Turbo boot mode, some processors load at boot time some
informations in memory from HD; theese informations that are needed
for booting are overwritten by FreeBSD so that the machine is "getting
confused"). With my PC this kind of solution didn' t work.

If someone may give me some good advice, I' ll be gratefull.

					Thank you.
