Kinda looks like you've reinstalled X from scratch.  If so, unfortunately,
you're going to have to rebuild your former X environment by hand, unless
you have you a backup of the relevant files.

One reason why I've adopted a policy of upgrading new FreeBSD releases by
rebuilding the sources.  More time-consuming, yes, but less likely to
trounce over whatever you've already taken months to tune to your liking.

It looks like the installer still could do a better job of 
preserving/migrating the old environment, I'm afraid (hard to know exactly
what needs to be saved, though, in any given environment; the
responsibility really is on *your* shoulders).
