I've followed the Handbook instructions and built a custom FreeBSD 2.2.2
kernel to support my Sound Blaster 16. The card is set to the default
settings: port 220, irq 7, low 1, high 5, midi port 330. The midi
part works fine, but I can't get other sounds such as video game sound
effects, .wav, .au, and so on.

When I do "cat /dev/audio", I get this error: "Sound: DMA timed out -
IRQ/DRQ config error?". This error also appears when I try to play wave
files.

Here is the sound section from my kernel config file:

controller snd0
device sb0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 7 conflicts drq 1 vector sbintr
device sbxvi0 at isa? drq 5
device sbmidi0 at isa? port 0x330
device opl0 at isa? port 0x388 conflicts

I also tried this line for sbxvi0:
device sbxvi0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 7 conflicts drq 5 vector sbintr

Any ideas? I appreciate any help.

Patrick
