Summary: Looking for info on Adaptec 3985 RAID controller w/FreeBSD
Keywords: FreeBSD, RAID, Adaptec 3985

I see that FreeBSD (and Linux) support the Adaptec 3985 RAID controller.
Is anyone using this with either of these OSes ? How is it ?
We currently have a commercial server which is very expensive and
I'm considring alternatives. I did fiddle with the concatinated disc
support in FreeBSD and the multiple devices in Linux, but I would
think a RAID specific controller would have faster I/O throughput.
I appreciate any info.

Thanks,
Dirk
