That is still true.  I have several grant proposals out to try and fund
the further development of NFS, of which a working lock manager and
interface to it would definitely be a part, but so far nobody has
nibbled.  It would otherwise appear to be unimportant enough to the
majority of the user community that nobody has ever tried to do it for
free, so now I have to try and work out some way of paying for it. :-(
