Thanks to those who offered their advice on my last problems. I had netscape running without those irritating warning messages :) but netscape still cause a segmentation fault whenever I tried to view document source. Any body experiencing the same thing? However, I'll still having problems with my secondary IDE controller and my IDE CD-ROM. I had tried several hardware configuration but it still refuses to work. The orginal config for my pc is a Quantum FB 3.2GB as the primary master and my Optics Storage 12X IDE cd-rom drive on my secondary master. The kernel is unable to locate the wdc1 at 0x170 using irq 15. Also, one funny thingy is that my HD LED light keeps light-up and never go off. Next, I connected the cd-rom drive as the primary slave. Ah hah!, now the kernel found it! BUT, i get a "input/output error" whenever i try mounting the drive with a valid cd-rom in it using the -t cd9660 disk type. The message from the kernel during bootup is :- wdc0: unit 1 (atapi): <OPTICS 12X IDE CD-ROM/1.04a>, removable, accel, dma, iordy I'm also unable to play audio cd on the drive using xcdplayer. Also, the funny HDD LED light works normally now. Lastly, I connect the cd-rom drive as the secondary slave! Now, the kernel finally found my secondary IDE controller as well as the cd-rom drive :- wdc1 at 0x170-0x177 irq 15 on isa wdc1: unit 1 (atapi): <OPTICS 12X IDE CD-ROM/1.04a>, removable, accel, dma, iordy However, I still cannot mount the cd-rom drive and I can't play audio cd either. I got the same messages as with when the cd-rom is connect as the primary slave. I'm sorry for the long post but I hope some pple out there might shed some light on this. Or somebody might want to hook up the same config and see what happens? The hardware I'm using is an Asus P/I-P55T2P4 m/b, P200 Intel MMX and 64MB ram. Thanks for bearing with my babblings.
