I was recommended them to resolve a problem to do with a ne2000 card that displays: "starartartartartartaratart" when receiving TCP packets. Unfortunately, patch 26 and 56 won't install properly. I looked up the use of these patches and it seems that they aren't crucial. The problem is that after a kernel rebuild, which I assume I have done correctly, the problem has not been solved.
