I was probably unclear with my original question.

My question is essentially, can FreeBSD (2.1.0 or 2.2.1) support 5
IDE devices - 2 hard drives on the motherboard's primary IDE
interface, 2 hard drives on the secondary IDE interface and an ATAPI
CDROM drive on a Creative Labs Soundblaster IDE interface ?

In 2.1.0, I've tried to define a wdc2 controller, using a multitude
of different options - no success. Is this possible/the right idea ?
Has anyone managed to access a CDROM drive connected via Soundblaster ?
If so, could you mail me the relevent lines from your kernel
configuration file ?

Thanks,

Mark
