I get this same error (see message dated May 30, 1997), but I have
used new floppies, formatted under dos, linux and solaris, downloaded
the boot.flp image multiple times (using Type I), and changed bios
settings trying to get past this error.  No Success.  This is on a
ASUS TP4N motherboard with Pentium 100, 48 megs ram, WD 1280 HD,
generic S3 Trio64V+ video, NEC 4X cdrom,  and a Novell NE2000+ card.
This machine previously ran 2.2-GAMMA(S) just fine.

I have successfully booted off the same floppies on a older 486DX2-66
VLB machine as well.  So there is something about my hardware that
FreeBSD just does not like.  How  depressing, I was looking forward to
FreeBSD/PRO. :(
