I just installed FreeBSD from the Walnut creek book (Version 2.1.5).
Now I have several questions (some might be interesting for the faq):

Q: I have got the version 2.1.5 with the book from Walnut Creek. Should I
upgrade that version to a newer one (which one) before running through
   the complete kernel configuration?

Q: I could not install booteasy under Windows 95. What do I have to do?

A: Most OS prevent you from changing the bootsector on your drive. So Booteasy
cannot be installed under Windows 95. You have to make a boot
floppy (format, Option: Copy System Files) and to copy the files of booteasy
to that floppy. Than you have to start your computer with that floppy.

Q: I have two SCSI-Drives on my PC. The first contains Windows 95 the 2nd
has FreeBSD on its first partion. After installing easy boot on my 1rst
drive Icould select disk 2 during startup, but FreeBSD did not boot Windows
   95 went up instead?

A: You have to install booteasy also on the 2nd disk, because your FreeBSD
partition has to be marked as active.
(Is there another solution for that problem?)

Q: In the distribution there are 3 Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM video drivers.
How can I find out which one to use? (My card is a Stealth 64 DRAM PCI
   with 2 Mb video RAM).
A: I have taken No. 40 from the list (S3DAC). It seems to work.
Q: Is there a keyboard definition for a swiss german keyboard available?
A:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Can I take the information about the devices like shown in the Properties
dialog of "My Computer" under Windows 95 for the kernel configuration?
   (IRQs, PORTS etc.)
A:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: My network card is a Realtek from Planet. Which definition can I use?
(Theoretically it should be compatible with NE2000 cards) And how can
I test the card (loopback)? I only have a second PC with Windows 95
   connected.

If someone could fill in the blanks please .... :-)
