hmm,
i've noticed something like that as well, and in the beginning i
was rather puzzled ... because @home i'm running a FreeBSD box
very similar to my FreeBSD box @work; and at home ns4.0b3 works
w/o problems, @work it dies with java stuff ('floating exception' ...)
@home i've a 4mb et6000 card which allows me 16bit color (@1280x1024)
@work it's a 2mb s3-968 card which allows 8bit color (@1280x1024)
so i startet my XFree86 (@work) in 16bit color depth (@1024x768)
and ! ns4.0b3 swallowed all the java stuff w/o any problems
so somehow, i got the impression that the colordepth is 'related' to
this 'problem'
(this problem doesn't show on one of our linux boxes (same conditions))
oops,
