Yes, I have had mma running under FreeBSD for a few years now, currently
running FreeBSD2.2.2 and Mathematica3.0. I use the Linux a.out form, and
generally ignore the cumbersome notebook front end, opting for
emacs-editing and X-based graphics. There are a few things that are useful
to have in your math startup script, and I believe all of these are
described in the FreeBSD handbook (sorry, but I can't get to my own files
at the moment). Check out
http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/handbook268.html#593
for more info, or feel free to email me (use ernie@lamprey.utmb.edu) with
any other questions. Note that after you have it all set up correctly,
whenever you start mma there will be ~3 error messages about something not
implemented. You can ignore these.
