I'm fairly new to both the Internet and 386BSD and have been reading this
newsgroup for a while now. I'm very interested in setting up a 386BSD
system but have a couple of problems...

There seem to be thousands of patches (which on it's own is no problem),
but from some of the news articles it seems that some of these have to
be removed for other things to work! If you havn't been following the
development from the beginning how do you know which ones to apply and
which ones not to apply?

A while ago (before my interest really developed) there was some talk about
a distribution on CD-Rom, consisting of 386BSD, X, source, etc.
Does this exist, what exactly does it contain, and how do I get hold of it?
If not, what other media options are available? (at present ftp is
not a valid option!)

In one of the 386BSD files (I think it's INSTALL.NOTES) it mentions a
book detailing the development of the system. Does this exist yet? and
how do I get hold of this, if not is there an easy way of getting hold
of all the right issues of DDJ (bearing in mind i'm in the UK).

I'm sorry if this shouldn't have been posted here, or is a bit tedious
to the people who are discussing the internals of the kernel...but you
have to start somewhere!!

						Thanks,
