:P~I followed those instructions when setting up my spool, and we are getting
:P~some weird errors.

:P~BSDi 3.0
:P~5 four Gig drives for the spool
:P~the system bins are on a an IDE drive
:P~We have a BusLogic BT-946C controller which all of the SCSI drives are on.

:P~We get these errors

:P~sd0: sn 2108290: media error: unrecovered read error (41 retries)
:P~sd0: retry 0
:P~sd0: sn 2108290: media error: unrecovered read error (41 retries)
:P~sd0: retry 0
:P~sd0: sn 2108290: media error: unrecovered read error (41 retries)

Generally speaking, media errors are caused by the SCSI device
having problems. I'd suspect one of your drives is going south
or isn't being cooled adequately. I've had similar problems when
the cooling fan on an external enclosure failed.
