I followed those instructions when setting up my spool, and we are getting
some weird errors.

BSDi 3.0
5 four Gig drives for the spool
the system bins are on a an IDE drive
We have a BusLogic BT-946C controller which all of the SCSI drives are on.

We get these errors

sd0: sn 2108290: media error: unrecovered read error (41 retries)
sd0: retry 0
sd0: sn 2108290: media error: unrecovered read error (41 retries)
sd0: retry 0
sd0: sn 2108290: media error: unrecovered read error (41 retries)

I used to have a 9G drive as sd0, but it failed (I assume due to these
errors). I took out the drive and replaced it with a 4G drive which was
working fine for three weeks then we started getting the same errors.

I just patched the kernel with all the 3.0 patches, and sure enough
the same error started coming up again.

Does anyone know if this is the splice driver? Or do we just happen
to be going thru hard drives like they are clean underwear!
