It may not be 100% impossible, but it is quite unfeasible to get ethernet going for your 512K from a hardware viewpoint. The AppleTalk port on your Mac is for LocalTalk, not EtherTalk/EtherNet. And to go from LocalTalk <-> Ethernet you would need a seperate (hw) bridge/router ($$). If it is a stock 512K then it is also quite unfeasible to get TCP/IP going on the software side. I'm not saying it can't be done at all, but your efforts will probably be misdirected.
