Look through the success stories in the PAO and  Linux Laptop
web pages.

I wound up picking a Toshiba 430CDT.  Their support gets mixed
reviews, but their international 3 year warrantee seems pretty
good.  It was within my budget and runs FreeBSD like the wind!
