All,

I just finished the install of 2.2.1 (wiping out a 2.1.7 install I never
finished configuring anyway). When I went to install packages from
the packages menu, it got halfway through and stopped, on 2 different
packages both times I tried it this way. When I did a vanilla install, and
came back after a reboot to add packages, it went through a-ok. Is there
a bug here? I'd be willing to re-install to provide more information if
someone would tell me what to watch for. I was delighted to find that my
ps/2 mouse, which didn't work with the psm driver on any of the 2.1.X
kernels worked flawlessly with 2.2.1, leaving a free serial port for my
extra modem.

p.s. thanks to the entire FreeBSD team for more butt-kicking net-savy
wares, and to all the people that replied to my earlier post about
3com/21140 based ethernet cards. I went with consensus, and bought the
Netgear FA310tx 10/100 21140 based card, and I must say "It's like,
really cool, Beavis". Just for kicks, I plugged it into the Cisco
Catalyst 5000 at work, spun up an FTP to my Sun ES3000, and saw
throughput that made my tongue wag :-)
