Hi all!

I have BSDI 2.0 w/ patches, and a unix socket file that lpd depends on
has dissappeared from my system. /var/run/printer is the socket lpr and
other programs use to connect to lpd. I managed to crash my system while
a program was using the printer socket, and when the system came back up,
the socket file was gone. :(

I have the feeling that there is a command I can type to recreate this
file, but have been through all my manuals and MAN pages, and haven't got
a clue as to what to do next. We are going to try a restore from a full
backup dump, but I have a feeling that ain't gonna do it for us.

Does anyone know how to recover from this situation? Any help
appreciated! Please email dwatson@entertain.com.

Thanks.
