It was, in fact, written specifically for NetBSD, at least in its current
form.  If you're wondering whether some external package called the "Disk
Striping Driver" works with NetBSD, I don't know; the 'ccd' device has been
part of NetBSD since 1.1 or thereabouts and works Just Fine.
