I am in the process of installing a system from the new 2.2.1 CD.
Overall, it has gone quite smoothly. I have some questions about the
contents/configuration of the resulting system.

- Other than at the top level, there aren't any CVS administrative
directories in the /usr/src tree. I've CVSup'd to retrieve the
repository for a few select directories, but there doesn't seem to
be any way to tell which versions of the source install off the CD
so that I can make coordinated use of the repository. Is there any
way to get the Entries files or to generate them? (If there isn't,
this might make a useful addition to future CD releases, since it
shouldn't take up much space). I'm hesitant to just blow away
portions of the existing source tree, especially since the source
is apparently RELENG_2_2_1_RELEASE + some small delta. My CVS
experience is limited, so if I am missing something obvious, please
  point it out.

- Which version of netatalk comes with the system? A quick diff
against distributions version 1.3.? and 1.4b didn't show anything
obvious. I also couldn't find the rest of the distribution --
afpd, atalkd, config files, etc. -- in the ports collection or as a
package. Should those components just work from some version of the
  standard umich distribution?

- My Adaptec 2940 (AU?, not wide) seems to get wedged up after a
FreeBSD session, requiring a powercycle. I have a zip drive and an
HP DAT attached, with the BIOS options turned off as I don't need
to boot from either of them. While I haven't put them under any
heavy load, they work fine. But when I reboot without powercycling,
the adaptec can't find any of the attached devices, the initial probe
takes a long time and comes back with nothing. Are the adaptec driver
changes that have been made since 2.2.1R supposed to address this,
or a different set of problems? Any ideas?

Thanks,
David Richardson
