  I don't know what your problem is, but the answer below appears to be 
quite correct.  It would appear that there has been some confusion over 
who is lacking the clue.

  When someone tells you to RTFM regarding ft(8), that would generally 
mean that you need to read man page 'ft' in section 8.  Translated:

man 8 ft

Bingo:
  FT(8)                   FreeBSD System Manager's Manual                  FT(8)

  NAME
       ft - QIC 40/80 floppy tape drive controller


  If you expect white-shirt-black-slacks professional answers, I suggest
you hire a consultant and pay them the big bucks.

  You asked for free help, and you got an accurate response.  It is a 
shame you got miffed over the use of a particular acronym, but that
would appear to be a personal problem not associated with the FreeBSD 
operating system.
