From what I understand, IBM dropped its support for NT on the RS/6000 on 
its own.  In that case, it appears that it was the hw vendor (IBM) 
telling MS to stick it.  I doubt the RS/6000 is unprofitable.  There is, 
after all, a large AIX base, continually growing from what I can see.

I think it was a good move on IBM's part, by the way.  AIX is a damn good 
system, designed specifically for RS/6000.  NT is, well, NT...  ;)
