Not a pretty sight if your were unlucky enough to have your CC:Mail database on a Novell server. However, I can offer one suggestion that will work very well, if you don't mind getting your hands dirty, and that is setting up CC:Mail for the World Wide Web. Basically, you take a Windows NT 4.0 machine and run the Microsoft web server on it, then make sure you can map the network server that has the CC:Mail database on it, (you use Gateway Services for Netware under NT if the CC:Mail database is on a Novell server) to a drive letter, then you install CC:Mail for the World Wide Web on the NT server. It goes in as a CGI application that is run under the Web server. CCM4WWW is available very cheaply from Lotus. The Unix machines just run Netscape under X, or other browser, and access the web server running on the NT server which will then access the CC:Mail post office. You can have as many people on the web server at one time as you want. I did this last year for some OS/2 workstations, (the OS/2 version of CCMail is not the most stable product there is) and it worked out quite nicely. If you do go in for a SMTP-to-CCMail gateway, the only one worth buying is from a company called IMC. The Lotus-supplied gateway stinks, it doesen't support Mime and goes down faster than a ten dollar ....... Ted
