  Please consult the web-searchable BSDI list archives at www.nexial.nl -
this subject has been beaten to death in the past. The *only* piece of the
3Com setup disk that BSD/OS pays any attention to is the Plug'n'Pray set-
ting (well, actually it also pays attention to the undocumented "set the
physical Ethernet address" option, but you'll never see that 8-). Every-
thing else is configured into the card at boot time.

  If you want your 3C509 at a specific address or IRQ, change your kernel
config file to say something like:

ef0	at isa? port 0x250 irq 10

  Remember that multiple 3C509's are found in physical address order (low-
est first).
