okay,

I'm all out of resources here at home. My numerous O'Reilly books
do not give me a clue. The man pages appear to be silent on the
subject. And my kernel has been compiling for the past 20 hours (it's
a '486DX33 with 4Mb of RAM --the extra 16Meg simm I have is bad).

Is there something specific that I must change in the configuration
file(s) to get RARPD to run. I put the proper (according to the man
page) statement in inetd.conf. However, I get a device not configured
error (for device bpf0) and it terminates. man bpf doesn't give me a
clue.

I didn't see anything relating to bpf0 in the GENERIC configuration
file. Will just the act of building a kernel configure bpf0 ? If not,
could someone point out what is required?

TIA,
Lowell
