The installation is busted.  Is there still the /kernel.GENERIC file
around?  Use it then.  Simply type `?' at the boot prompt to see which
files are in the root directory.

If the kernel file is all that's missing, it's no big deal.  Let's hope
there are not more files missing.

Curious: what kind of CD drive do you have?
