Thanks.  That was the pointer I needed.  I found OPEN_MAX and doubled it.
64 seems a little on the low side for a server anyway.  The first thing
I tried was uping MAXUSERS, but that changes system total but not per-
process total.   Hopefully that will solve at least one of my INN problems.
