That's been about time for it. :-)

My last experience with IRIX was 5.3 (it was at a previous employer,
and they later abandoned SGI due to the bad bang-per-buck ratio), and
with efs.  Mind you, i knew BSD already for quite some time then, and
i found that efs was the most fragile filesystem i've ever seen, even
more fragile than the old UNIX filesystem on Interactive UNIX (S51K).

The Indys were the only machines that really required an UPS.  (Well,
at least, their old FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 server now benefits from that UPS,
even though the Indys are long gone. ;-) It's got uptimes of half of a
year and more.)

Good to hear that SGI has now a better filesystem.
