Which kind of support do you expect?

It supports it as a normal IDE device.  It doesn't touch the
performance tuning however, so whatever your BIOS has been telling the
drive (PIO mode 3/4 etc.) will be used.

You can use IDE disks up to at least 31.5 GB with BSD (if they are
shared with other BIOS-using operating systems -- up to 127 GB if they
are not to be shared).
