A dual-redundant machine setup has to also be a quick-reboot setup
with regard to file systems and databases.  Up=to-the-instant
redundancy requires that the redundant data be in flux as much as it
is on the primary server (and, often, a physical I/O connection to
that primary server); making the data available on the failover system
requires you to clean it first.
