You have 2 slices for FreeBSD, and each of them must have BSD partitions on it. For your first slice, the installation program did do that for you. For your second slice, you have to install a disklabel on it. It should be something like disklabel -w -r wd1s2 auto After that you may edit your disklabel to make partitions on your slice (disklabel -e ws1s2) or use the "c" partition which represents the whole slice (be careful not to use the "d" partition, representing your whole disk ;-) ). So after you have installed a disklabel, a newfs /dev/rwd1s2c should work.
