FWIW, neither workman, xcd, nor xcdplayer worked for me with
2.1-stable until a month ago or so when Jordan merged in code from i
think 2.2 for the wcd driver.  It works great with my 4x drive, but
has a bit of problems with my crappy 3+ year old 2x drive.
