I have a crappy 2x <CD-ROM CDU55E/1.0q> (Sony) unit. I run Workman
1.3 (which would not work with my drive before the recent patches to
the wcd driver) and sometimes it will simply lock up at the end of a
track and sit there. The process enters an uninterruptible I/O wait
(if you run ps, the process has a "D" flag) and is therefore
unkillable; it also seizes control of my X console, leaving me no
choice but to log in remotely and restart the server AND leaving me
unable to access my CD-ROM drive. Could it be a bug in the driver or
is it more likely to be my crap unit?

thanks
