I have been using the 3940UW on my win based machines, and even have tried it on Fbsd. I am not familiar with the scsi logic on the unit, but I can tell you this controller performs much better than the 2940UW, and the fact that each bus can support 15 scsi devices is great. I believe that 2.1 only groks the first. : BTW, I'd avoid the 3940. It's billed as a dual-channel board, but I've read : that it's actually only got one set of SCSI logic on it that's multiplexed : between them.
