Who sais that they are not allowed to come out simultaneously?

Originally, 2.1.6 and 2.2 were planned to be the same time.  2.2 has
been sidetracked, mostly due to some problems with the ahc driver.

...you can examine the source, and then decide whether to trust it or
not. ;)

Btw., i've never attempted to reverse my slogan.  (``Always trust an
operating system you have sources for.'')  That probably wouldn't
make sense...
