Ah ha! Thanks for the pointer. I copied the bison.simple/hairy files to
/usr/share/misc and successfully completed compiling lesstiff-0.77 (sigh).

Now if only there was a Web document that inventoried all of these bits
and pieces (what, where, etc.)  ;)
