Bought a Mac CD which has lots of big big graphics files. Currently
trying to copy these files to a different fs on my FreeBSD 2.1.5 box.
Installed hfs-0.37 (is there a more current version?) and could see
the directories in the Mac CD without any problems.

The directory names on the CD are actually more like full sentences.
But doing a hfs cd "directory name" did not work. So did a hfs ls -alR
and saved the output on disk. Looking at the result showed me that the
directory names have control characters like 0xc4 in them!

What options are there now? Is it possible to do a hfs cd into these
directories by keying in these control characters easily?
Did not try tkhfs-1.27 program, since X is not currently installed.
Will that help.

Since these graphics pictures are huge in size, sometimes get an
error while reading them on the SCSI CD-ROM. This promptly reboots
the box. Any quick fix?

In desperation, even tried CD duplication to a Hybrid ISO9660/hfs CD.
The control characters still rule the day. Is there any way in which
this CD can be used without borrowing/buying a Mac?

Thanks for any suggestions,
das
