As i already wrote you in another newsgroup (which you don't see here
since you don't know how to crosspost correctly, apparently), the dump
format is (as i recently had to learn *smile*) not that system-
dependant.

Here's the attempt to read in the dump header of a dump taken on AIX:

j@ida 303% /sbin/restore iv

As you can see, it decides it needs to do byte and quad swapping, but
that's all.
