The new (2.2-GAMMA or higher) sysinstall lets you run a fixit shell
from the 2nd CD-ROM, but you still need a boot floppy.

Nobody ever bothered to write something like UMSDOS.  Seems to be
little interest only in this.  Although, it should not be too hard to
do, since you could supposedly setup a large DOS file as a vn device
once you've got your kernel running, and mount the remaining file
system off this vn device.
