The basic question is, does every FreeBSD machine stand alone in terms
of its usernames, passwords, etc? Or can a group of FreeBSD machines
share this administrative data so that one may login to any one of an
arbitrary number of machines in a group without difficulty? Let's
assume that all the machines in the group are identically configured.
Can password changes, new users, etc, be propogated to all machines
easily, or can a machine be designated as a master for this
information? Or must all machines stand pretty much by themselves?

I'm used to NetInfo, not with NIS/yp/etc, but I think we all
understand the general idea.

Is there a "good" way to achieve this effect? Symlinks from
NFS-mounted admin info to /etc/passwd equivalents?

Feel free to send me to a FAQ or a FreeBSD man page if needed.
