Hi there,

I'm trying to get a Seikosha SP-2400 printer to work with FreeBSD. It's
in Epson compatible mode, and doing a "copy file prn" from DOS works fine.
However with FreeBSD, a "cat file >/dev/lpt0" results in "Device not ready".
Same with Windows NT - it won't even print the test page - device not
ready. If it wasn't for the fact that it prints just fine from DOS, I'd
say it's the cable, but it can't be.

Has anyone any ideas?

If you put garbage in a computer nothing comes out but garbage. But
this garbage, having passed through a very expensive machine, is
somehow enobled and none dare criticize it.
