Within specific parameters every operating system (hardware and software too) has an advantage over another. At one time or another since 1974 I've had the opportunity to work with many different systems from the F.A.D.A.C. (12k core memory and a paper tape reader) fire direction computer to Cray and Data General Supers. After working with various flavors of several different operating systems and many hardware platforms I view most of these comparisons as pissing contests.
