Hi,
My first experience with FreeBSD was installing FreeBSD-2.1.6.1
(Walnut Creek CD-ROMs) onto a new personal machine as soon as the CD's
arrived. (I had no major problems at all installing!!) When the
FreeBSD 2.2 CD's arrive from Walnut Creek (sometime in the future),
are there any suggestions for migrating to FBSD-2.2.x ? Everything on
my machine is pretty stable now, and I've installed many ports (both
official ports and other things I've found on the net); will
everything need to be recompiled for 2.2.x?

Also, can anyone recommend a backup device (and where to purchase)
that will work with a Cyrix 6x86 P166+, 16MB, 3Gig WD IDE HD, and
FreeBSD 2.1.6.1 and the 2.2.x release ?

Thanks for any suggestions (and I'm sure this is just the first of
many similar questions being asked on the newsgroup ;)

david
